According to the Charleston, West Virginia Area Local #133, Voting on attached Constitutional By-Laws changes at the March 20, 2021 Regular Monthly Meeting @ 7:00 PM. We will also be taking nominations for Delegates to the State Convention for April 29, 2021- April 30, 2021 which will be held by Zoom conferencing. The meeting will be held at 711 Bigley Ave. Charleston, WV 25302 There will be a $25.00 door prize. The bonus drawing is $250.00. ALL MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND Charleston Area Local #133 Regular Monthly Minutes February 20, 2021 Opening of Meeting Craig Brown called meeting to order at 8:00 AM, Saturday, February 20, 2021. Allegiance to Flag Chris Smith led the Pledge of Allegiance. Reading of Minutes Eustacia Wriston read the monthly minutes for January 2021. Motion to accept the minutes for January as read was made by Chris Smith. Seconded by Tim Thompson. Motion Passed Treasurer's Report Chris Smith read the Treasurer's Report for January 2021. Motion to accept the Treasurer's Report for January 2021 as read was made by Tim Thompson. Letter from Karen Wolver, Auxiliary to APWU Human Relations Project has been Fisher House 2018-2021. Asking all locals for donations to help support Fisher House. For more information about Fisher House program go to: www.apwuauxiliary.org . To ensure recognition at the National Convention, please have donations sent in no later than July 15th. Letter from WVPWU President Sinikka Melvin WVPWU Executive board has opted to go online for the state convention. Training will be Thursday April 29th in the morning. Normal business start time will now start in the afternoon of the 29th and go into Friday April 30th. Legislative director Glenn Wilson sadly made the decision to resign. Chris Black was unanimously voted by the executive board to fill the legislative director position. There will be a portion of the convention dedicated to Gary Shorter so if you have any pictures you want to share please send them in. New Business Doug Butler made a motion to send the Vice President and Treasurer to the Secretary of Treasurers Fiduciary Training for February 10,2021 paying loss time for up to 8 hours. Seconded by Amy Haga. Motion Passed Doug Butler made a motion to send the President, Vice President, and Treasurer to the Department of Labor LM Training on February 24th from 1pm-4pm paying loss time for up to 8 hours. Seconded by Chris Smith. Motion Passed Doug Butler made a motion to purchase QuickBooks Pro 2021 spending up to $1,000.00. Seconded by Amy Haga. Motion Passed Tim Thompson made a motion to pay the Tour 1 stewards (Tim Thompson, Brenda Matheny, and Alexis Pratt) 8 more hours of lost time for the Basic Steward Training on February 11, 2021. Seconded by Doug Butler. Motion Passed Amy Haga made a motion to pay loss time for up to 16 hours for Clerk Craft Director and 1 person of their choosing to clean up the files in the office and shred documents. Seconded by Chris Smith. Motion Passed Chris Smith made a motion to pay the shredding company to come in and shred the documents up to $1,000.00. Seconded by Tim Thompson. Secretary-The secretary shall keep a correct and impartial record, of the proceedings of this area local and carry on such correspondence as the affairs of the area local dictate. The secretary shall record each meeting on the cassette recorder provided and will use said tapes to assist in preparing the minutes of each meeting. Tapes of each meeting shall be retained for a period of 120 days after said meeting. No communications carried on by the area local may be regarded as official unless a signed copy of the dispatched communication and reply are given to the secretary for filing. All original copies of incoming correspondence and copies of outgoing correspondence and original copy of minutes shall be maintained at the union office. The secretary shall make a report of the preceding meeting at each meeting of the area local. A draft of each meeting will be posted on bulletin boards fourteen (14) days after meeting. A typewritten copy of the minutes shall be given to the president and treasurer within fourteen (14) days after the meeting. The copy of the minutes will include a copy of the sign-in sheet as well as a copy of correspondence that will require further action by the president or treasurer.
